About Khanom
Khanom is a small town in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. The beaches are beautiful and largely deserted, which makes Khanom popular with those seeking peace. In the surroundings lie two caves, a few waterfalls and a paved road up Dat Fa mountain with a view. On the coast you can sometimes see pink dolphins on a boat trip. The region is known for its coconuts and fruit. In town there are small guesthouses and eateries with fresh fish. Khanom suits travellers seeking a relaxed beach stay without the crowds of Samui. The sea is calmest from January to April, and in November and December a lot of rain falls. Khanom lies about 90 km from Nakhon Si Thammarat and can be reached by minibus or taxi. With a rented scooter you can explore the coast and surroundings at your own pace.
